Japan is an amazing country to visit. However, some people decide to do more than that and they move to Japan to study. Unfortunately, not all students can afford to pay for college fees and living expenses in a foreign country.

On the bright side of things, here is where scholarship programs come in and save the day. If you ever wanted to study in Japan, then you should be pleased to know that the Hokkaido University scholarship program is accepting applications for the 2020 academic year.

The Hokkaido University scholarship program is funded by the Japan Government and it provides international students with a fully-funded scholarship.

Since the scholarship positions are awarded to international students, this means that people from all over the world can apply for the Hokkaido University scholarship program. However, the scholarship program is targeting students who are interested in getting their master’s or doctoral degree.

Hokkaido University Scholarship Program for International Students: Benefits

As previously mentioned, the Hokkaido University scholarship program is offering fully-funded positions. Therefore, students will not be required to pay application, admission, tuition, arrival/return planet fees.

As if this wasn’t impressive enough, the scholarship program also provides 144,000 Yen per month to students who are enrolled in a master’s program and 145,000 Yen per month to doctoral students.

Hokkaido University Scholarship Program for International Students: Criteria

First off, we want to mention that all international students are accepted. This means that all students who are not residents in Japan. Moreover, all applicants need to hold either a bachelor’s degree for master program or a master’s degree for a doctoral program.

All applicants must be born after April 2, 1985. Students need to have an English Certificate from a reputable University.

Duration of Scholarship and Fields of Study

Hokkaido University offers 13 divisions in the fields of mechanical engineering, applied physics, civil engineering, materials science, architecture and design, and environment/resource engineering.
