The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, the Faculty of Social Sciences has announced that it is offering eight scholarships in 2020/2021 to students from developing countries that are going through the process of economic and political transition. Successful applicants who get accepted in the scholarship program will receive a significant payment at the start of the Winter semester. This is one month after the students register for their studies.
The scholarship offers positions at the Charles University in Prague and is awarded on a year-to-year basis. This means that all students are required to submit their applications every year. We also want to highlight that the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, the Faculty of Social Sciences is not offering scholarships for the third year of study (Master’s degree) or the fourth year of study (Bachelor’s degree).

Benefits:
The successful scholarship holder will receive payment at the start of the Winter semester, no later than one month after they register for their studies and fulfillment of other prerequisites. The main prerequisite for the scholarship payment is the student’s prior payment of tuition fee for the Winter semester. No money will be paid in advance of the student’s arrival in Prague.

Criteria:
The scholarship can be awarded to students studying in one of the Faculty’s fee-based study programs in one of the first three years of study for Bachelor’s programs or the first two years of study for Master’s programs. This means the application can be submitted by current students in the first or second year of Bachelor’s studies or the first year of Master’s studies, or by a fresh applicant to any of their fee-based programs.
The applicants have to be from developing countries and countries going through a process of political and economic transition and have to state their needs of financial support within the application.
